Macy Vaughn was the firstborn and eldest daughter of Dexter Vaughn and Marisol Vera, the oldest sister of Maggie Vera, the oldest maternal half-sister of Melanie Vera, the late girlfriend of Harry Greenwood, and the granddaughter of Julie and Unknown Grandfather. Also, she is an honorary sister of Kaela Danso, who joined Mel and Maggie after her death.

Macy was a witch with heightened abilities due to her being a Charmed One. Along with her basic abilities as a witch (casting spells and brewing potions), she possessed the power to move things with her mind due to her role as a Sister of Space. After briefly losing access to her witchly power due to having been stripped of her aura, Macy was able to reawaken her telekinetic abilities in an advanced form through the consumption of black amber. Soon after, her telekinetic powers expanded, allowing her to generate and project telekinetic energy to a variety of effects. Furthermore, Macy was able to access the Power of Three, the collective power of the Charmed Ones, allowing them to vanquish the most powerful of demons. Unlike her sisters, Macy was resurrected by demon blood as a baby, giving her a darkness that granted her several demonic powers. Macy briefly took on the power of the Source, although it has since been drained into her pendant. In an attempt to restore the Power of Three, after she and her sisters had lost connection to it, she seeks help from Abigael Jameson-Caine to have her demonic side stripped. Unbeknownst to Macy, though, Abigael doesn't simply strip her powers but instead steals Macy's coveted demonic pyrokinesis abilities for herself.

In 2021, Macy regained her demonic powers; however, soon after, the Whispering Evil, wanting to get a new host, tried to take over her body. Macy was able to stop its control by drinking poison, which killed the ancient monster, but its death inside Macy also damaged her body at the cellular level. Despite the efforts of her sisters and Harry, the damage was irreparable. In the end, having come to terms with what had happened, the sisters took the dying Macy to the Guardian, where her soul separated from her body and ascended, becoming part of the magical world.

Months later, she stopped being connected to the Black Amber Tree and moved on, finding peace.

For years, her sisters thought that she was living happily in the afterlife with her mother and father, though they were eventually told that Macy had been reincarnated again. However, Macy had disappeared, and Marisol gave Jordan Chase the task of finding her. Jordan eventually discovered that Macy had inhabited the body of a comatose witch and taken the identity of Maria. As Maria, Macy lived in Salem, Massachusetts, and is a healing doctor.

Though Macy initially chose to keep her distance from her sisters out of fear of the cataclysmic consequences, she eventually decided to return to Seattle and was happily reunited with Mel and Maggie.

Powers and Abilities

As a Spirit:

• Flight - The ability to defy gravity and propel oneself in any direction through the air. After she dies, her soul is separated from her dying body, becoming a new guardian.

• Possession: the power to forcefully take control and inhabit another being's body, usually without consent. As a spirit, Macy possesses Kaela's body in season 5.

• Intangibility: As a ghost, Macy's natural state was intangible. By transforming into her spirit form, she was able to minimally affect the objects and people she passed through, knocking them around.

• Persuasion: the ability to implant subtle suggestions into a person's mind to manipulate their actions and affect the way they think at the moment. The power often takes advantage of the victim's deepest emotions, such as fear, and their desires to make them vulnerable to the suggestions. As a spirit, Macy uses this power to manipulate Kaela and tells Kaela that Harry does not love her, then tells her that she is just a stranger to Maggie and Mel. For example, she tells Kaela to jump to her death, but with the help of her sisters and Harry, Kaela snaps out of the trance state.

• Telekinesis: The power to move objects with one's mind. As a spirit, Macy possesses her witch power. Macy used this power to throw a picture of Mel, Kaela, and Maggie onto the floor. 

• Spirit Writing: The ability to write messages from the afterlife through the use of orbs. Macy wrote a message to Kaela to apologize for her behaviour, then she wrote to find happiness with Harry and make him happy.

Demon Blood Empowerment: Due to the circumstances of her resurrection, Macy had demon blood running through her veins, which empowers her to an extent. This demon blood has also been known to draw out the darkness from within her. According to Dr. Julia Wagner, Macy's demon nature was introduced into her blood cells like an infection rather than being genetic like a hybrid. Macy had her demon side and powers stripped in "Needs to Know" at the hands of Abigael Jameson-Caine and has no demonic aspects anymore. However, her demonic forces were ultimately restored again with the help of Abigael in "The Storm Before the Calm".

• Limited Shapeshifting: Macy could change her eye color when her demonic side took over, either glowing red or the entire eyeball would turn black.

• Pain Resistance: A new demonic trait that has thickened her skin and frayed her nerves, dulling her pain receptors.

• Voice Manipulation: Whenever Macy is overwhelmed by her demon side, her voice will deepen and sound more threatening.

• Demonic Translation: While looking through books, Macy found that she could read Illevaihcam (also known as the Devil's Tongue).

• Pyrokinesis: Macy awakened the ability to project fire from her hand. According to Harry, this ability stems from Macy's demon nature. She at first had little control over it and did not know what triggered the power when she used it to protect Mel from a Rat Demon, but she had learned how to consciously use it, even in a defensive manner. She is now able to project streams of fire and has complete control over this ability.

As The Source:

• Incineration - the power to heighten the temperature of an object to destructive levels, causing it to disintegrate until only ash remains.

• Advanced Incineration: The ability to cause a being to disintegrate until only ash remains. After becoming the Source, Macy used this demonic power to vanquish Alastor.

• Fading - The ability to teleport through light.

• Remote Fading: The ability to teleport other beings without having to physically touch them. Macy was able to teleport her sisters and Harry without having to touch them after becoming the Source. She was also able to teleport Mel's bracelet and Maggie's staff back to them.

• Reality Warping: The ability to warp reality on a cosmic scale. Macy distorted reality to ensure Niko would be okay, erased mortals' memories, and made them think it was all a dream after becoming the Source. Macy could also use her powers to rewrite history, creating several different timelines.

• Telekinesis - The ability to move objects and individuals with the mind alone.

• Advanced Telekinesis: After taking on the power, Macy's telekinetic powers were highly sensitive and augmented.

• Energy Blast Generation: The ability to project blasts of telekinetic energy.

• Resurrection: Macy could revive the dead, as seen when she used this power to bring Galvin back to life.

• Sensing: The ability to sense people and objects, etc.

• Telepathy: The ability to read minds.

• Disintegration: The ability to cause objects to disintegrate into nothing. Macy was powerful enough to destroy the Prism of Souls, an artifact thought impossible to destroy.

• Aerokinesis: The ability to manipulate air. Macy used this power to create a whirlwind around herself and send her sisters flying around the attic.

• Limited Shapeshifting: Macy was shown to be able to make her eyes glow gold.

• Immortality: The ability to live a potentially eternal life. As the Source of All Evil, Macy became immortal and nearly indestructible.
