Margarita "Maggie" Emilia Vera is the daughter of Dexter Vaughn and Marisol Vera and is the adopted daughter of Ray Vera. She was the youngest sister of the Vera-Vaughn-Danso sisterhood of the Charmed Ones, meaning it was her duty to protect innocents and occasionally save the world. This makes her the younger sister of the late Macy Vaughn and the younger maternal half-sister of Melanie Vera. She is the ex-girlfriend of Parker Caine and Brian. She and Parker were briefly engaged, but Maggie broke it off shortly after. She is close friends with the Whitelighter of all of the Charmed Ones, Harry Greenwood, and Jordan Chase, and is friends with Lucy. Maggie was a student at Hilltowne University where she had decided to major in psychology and participated in several extracurriculars such as the Hilltones, the black student union, and was a pledge of Kappa Tau Kappa sorority before forcefully being moved to Seattle, Washington, and placed into hiding. There, she got a job at SafeSpace, Seattle as a part-time receptionist before becoming an assistant manager. She is currently a student at Seattle State College, and she is majoring in psychology.

Powers and Abilities

Active Powers:

  • Foresight - In Deconstructing Harry, Maggie gained the ability to perceive small segments of future events. This ability manifested after she had come in direct contact with black amber, and several subsequent attempts to use this ability required Maggie to do so again (i.e. she received her first few psychic visions through tactical contact with Jordan Chase's family ring before channelling the power from the black amber tree located in the Command Center). However, in Guess Who's Coming to SafeSpace Seattle, Maggie seemed able to access this ability free of using black amber. According to Mel, Maggie's powers of foresight can be focused either through proximity or a personal item belonging to the subject of her vision. Maggie’s foresight also enabled her to predict Jordan's moves while they were combat training, and she described herself as now having cat-like reflexes. In Breaking the Cycle, Maggie was first shown to also be able to access her power while she was asleep through precognitive dreaming. As of Search Party, Maggie is shown to be able to recall a previous vision. In Yew Do You, Maggie was able to get a vision of the past to find Julie Hoffman's location.
    • Hindsight: the power to perceive events of the past. It has been shown that some users might have their power expand to allow them to see events of the past as well. Maggie first demonstrated the ability to view the past a little over a year after developing her power. The first time that she used it was while she was looking for Julie Hoffman, a victim of Omon who had been hypnotized to run over her boyfriend, Jason. Maggie touched the broken glass from Jason's car and saw that Julie was in the forest. As with foresight, these visions may be displayed as a single event or provide a look into multiple events. For example, when grabbing Jordan Chase's hand, Maggie was able to see that he was the one that had been taken over by the Whispering Evil and also glimpsed him infecting several people.
  • Empathy - Maggie's primary power initially allowed her to magically sense and feel the emotions of others. However, empathy is an umbrella term that seemingly denotes any abilities involving emotions. Maggie's ability was tactile, which required her to touch the beings whose minds she wished to read and emotions she wished to sense. Clothing did not act as a barrier, meaning she did not need skin-to-skin contact to make an empathic connection, only the proximity of touch. Maggie's powers had expanded as of Red Rain, allowing her to connect with Parker on an empathic plane despite not knowing his location. In "Safe Space", Maggie's empathic powers were rendered dormant when her aura was stripped. Eventually, Maggie's empathic powers were restored in the form of projecting her own emotions onto others as shown in "Don't Look Back in Anger" as she made those security guards feel anger as she was having a heated conversation with her father, Ray. In "Cats and Camels and Elephants, oh my…", her power expanded as she was able to mimic other people's powers and abilities by empathically understanding them.

    • Emotional Inception: In Don't Look Back in Anger, Maggie's powers expand, allowing her to cause other people to feel whatever emotions she does. In An Inconvenient Truth, Maggie's powers further grew as she accidentally incepted Mel with a multitude of different emotions, she doesn't have a good grip on her power yet. As of You Can't Touch This, Maggie is now able to purposely incept someone with emotion as she sees fit as we see her incept calmness onto the monster. In Yew Do You, she uses her dancing abilities in sync with her power to help communicate with Julie and break her out of her hypnotic trance from Omon.
    • Empathic Mimicry: Maggie's powers expanded once again in "Cats and Camels and Elephants, oh my…", allowing her to temporarily mimic the powers of beings via empathically understanding them. She was able to mimic Harry Greenwood's new power of Necromancy as she understood his reasoning for repeatedly entering the Veil and trying to reunite with Macy and then again was able to mimic Sunny's powers as she understood her anger and fear by basically placing herself into the Nekomata Cat's shoes.
